Course Description
This is a nationally certified Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) automotive program through ASE (Automotive Service Excellence). Topics of study include: engine performance, tire repair/replacement, alignment, fuel systems, wiring and electrical systems, power trains and transmissions, brake repair and replacement, steering and suspension. Students will diagnose, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on foreign/domestic cars and light trucks by using the latest techniques and computerized diagnostic equipment.

Rick HinmanAuto Tech TeacherI have been teaching in the automotive field for 25 years. Most of that time here at The Career and Tech Center. Before my teaching career started, I was a factory GM Technician. I received my AAS degree in Automotive Technology from SUNY Morrisville, and my BS in Vocational Education from SUNY Oswego. I enjoy hunting, riding snowmobiles, sunsets over a lake, and anything auto related.
